Game Night: Free-For-All is the third Game Night box released for Magic: The Gathering. Like the two before it, it is intended to be played in a multiplayer format with up to five players. The box will include five decks, with each specifically constructed and balanced to play against each other. The entire point of Game Night boxes is to remove the trading aspect from Magic, and just have a game you can play with other people straight out of the box.

Unlike the previous boxes released in 2018 and 2019, Free-for-All is taking more inspiration from Magic’s most popular format, Commander, by including five legendary creature face cards. While most cards in the decks will be reprints of existing cards, each one will also include one brand-new legendary creature the deck is built around. All five of the new legendary creatures will be legal not just in the Game Night box, but also in Commander, Legacy, and Vintage.

As this is an introductory product meant to bring newcomers into Magic, each of the five new not-quite-commanders are relatively simple, monocolour creatures. For instance, Vogar, Necropolis Tyrant is a monoblack Zombie Giant that gets +1/+1 counters whenever creatures die, while Zamriel, Seraph of Steel gives equipped creatures you control indestructible on your turn. Notably, the blue creature, Maeve, Insidious Singer, is Magic’s first-ever legendary Siren.
